Perchök: Social Design Made in Barcelona

Perchök is more than just a coat rack. It is a story of collaboration, dignity, and purposeful design. Crafted in the heart of Barcelona’s Barri Gòtic, in the workshop of Fundació Arrels, this piece is made by people who have experienced homelessness and are now reconnecting with society through design.
Overcoming exclusion takes more than a roof, it takes purpose. In the workshop, participants recover skills, rebuild self-esteem, and, most importantly, reclaim their place in the world.
Perchök is made from reclaimed wood and recyclable metal. Produced in small batches, it is crafted without haste or mass production. Each piece is unique, just like the story of its maker.

At yök, we believe in design as a tool for transformation. That’s why we chose to collaborate on this project: we share the same values of local production, sustainability, and social commitment. 100% of the proceeds go to Fundació Arrels, an organization that has been working for over 35 years to ensure no one sleeps on the streets.
There’s no fancy packaging, and it doesn’t need it. Perchök is made to last and to add value. Every time someone hangs it in their home, they also hang a piece of what we believe is possible: a fairer, more humane, and more beautiful world.
